چکیده:
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a disorder in which the child suffers from hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsive behaviors, and showing these symptoms can cause problems in the child's relationship with other individuals such as family, friends, etc. The mother-child relationship is one of the cases that can affect various aspects of health for both. The aim of the present research was to determine the effectiveness of parent-child interaction-based intervention on the mother-child relationship in children with ADHD. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design involving experimental and control groups. To measure the variables, the SNAP-IV ADHD rating scale (Swanson, Nolan, and Pelham, 1980) and the Parent-Child Interaction Scale (Pianta, 1994) were utilized. The statistical population included all students aged 7 to 11 years with ADHD and their mothers in the city of Tehran. The statistical sample of this research consisted of 60 children aged 7 to 11 with combined type ADHD and their mothers, who had visited clinics in districts one and two of Tehran with an ADHD diagnosis from a psychiatrist, and had received an ADHD diagnosis through psychiatrist referral and the administration of the SNAP-IV ADHD rating scale on the children. Subsequently, the experimental group underwent parent-child interaction training for 14 one-hour sessions, three sessions per week. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, the parent-child interaction-based intervention in the experimental group increased conflict resolution ability, reduced child dependence on the mother, and increased their closeness (), and this increase in the mean post-test score for mother-child closeness was higher than other components. Based on the findings, implementing the parent-child interaction training program sessions can be effective in reducing conflict and dependence and increasing intimacy between mothers and children with ADHD. Therapists and educators can take steps toward improving mother-child relationships (conflict resolution ability, reduction of child-mother dependence, and their closeness) and ultimately the health of both by implementing this program.

The aim of the present research was to determine the effectiveness of parent-child interaction based intervention on the relationship between mother and child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Based on the findings, implementing the parent-child interaction training session program can be effective in reducing conflict and dependence and increasing intimacy between the mother and the child with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
Univariate analysis of covariance to examine the effect of parent-child interaction training on conflict resolution ability of mother and child with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder Source of variation, sum of squares, degrees of freedom, mean squares, F value, significance level Group, 251/716, 1, 251/716, 6/845, 0/011 Pre-test, 7004/193, 2, 3502/096, 95/239, 0/000 Error, 2095/991, 57, 36/772, , Total, 100907, 60, , , Based on the above table, since the obtained F = 6.
05, it means that the test hypothesis is accepted, and we conclude that parent-child interaction training has been effective on the conflict resolution ability of mothers and children with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder and the conflict resolution ability has increased.
The second hypothesis of this research stated that the parent-child interaction-based intervention increases the closeness of mothers and children with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
The third and final hypothesis of this study stated that the parent-child interaction-based intervention increases the non-dependency of mothers and children with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
05, it means that the test hypothesis is accepted, and we conclude that parent-child interaction training has been effective on the non-dependency of mothers and children with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder and non-dependency has increased.
