After the Renaissance era, the role of the church and family as founders of education faded, and following industrial and scientific revolutions and the increasing speed of globalization, a need for a formal environment for education and the development of potential talents and the actualization of thought was felt; education has played a significant role in this regard. The aim of the present study is to investigate the role of education in changing values and attitudes in Islamic society. Findings indicate that today, education is a factor in social movements, the flourishing of thought, the formation of order, the acceptance of hierarchies, and generally, cultural building in society. One of the main and important goals of our education is the religious and Islamic upbringing of individuals to cope with life and societal issues. The school is a center that can play an important role in shaping the religious beliefs and insights of students. Among those who have a direct impact on the religious tendencies and religious upbringing of students in school are mentors and teachers, who are always cited as role models. Based on its mission, the educational institution is responsible for the education of the children of society, and in our society, which is an Islamic society, the transfer and deepening of religious and human values to the next generation is one of the most obvious expectations that can be had from the educational institution. One of the most common methods of education is Islamic upbringing through the language of teachers and mentors; because a child communicates better and more easily with a teacher or mentor, and the impact of these individuals on the human spirit and mind is undeniable. This article, which was conducted using a descriptive and analytical method based on library studies, aims to address the role of the school and teachers in the religious upbringing of students while providing definitions of education and Islamic upbringing.

Numerous factors such as the growth of knowledge and technology, the development of the educational system, the cultivation of correct religious beliefs, the establishment of order and security in society, importance given to individual rights, and purposeful social institutions can be said to mean that to create such indicators for a healthy society, the reform and educational system are among the main pillars, and through its cultivation, other characteristics of a healthy society can be realized (7).
Religious and sectarian upbringing is one of the most important and fundamental aspects of education and training, which begins in the institution of the family and continues in schools and other educational organizations; one of the most common methods of teaching religious beliefs is expressing them through the words of teachers and educators, because a child communicates better and more easily with a teacher or educator, and the impact of the role of these individuals on the spirit and mind of humans is undeniable (18).
