The examination of the performative and visual capacities of One Thousand and One Nights has not yet received serious attention. In other words, the fact that this collection can be viewed as one of the most prominent manifestations of folk literature for media reproduction has been overlooked. The importance of recreating the One Thousand and One Nights collection in cinema and television is more than just a subject for producing artistic works with aesthetic value; the primary capacity for adapting the stories of this book returns to its cultural dimensions. In this research, the fundamental characteristics of the One Thousand and One Nights story collection for adaptation are examined and included in the book 'Myth and Media'. In short, the adaptive nature of the text itself; the origin of the stories which has caused diversity in narrative styles and the existence of a discursive space; the foundational story and the successive stories that have created two capacities in classical narrative and artistic narrative; the oral performance of the stories in their time which established dramatic norms; and also the moral theme hidden in the structure of the stories, are among the most important capabilities for adapting the One Thousand and One Nights collection.
