چکیده:
The present article examines simile and classifies its various types of structures in Rumi's Masnavi. In addition to being considered one of the central and important topics in the field of rhetoric and eloquence, the investigation and analysis of its diverse and multiple structures and constituent elements can be indicative and defining of a poet's specific style and language, both in terms of form and content. Therefore, it is also of great importance from a stylistic perspective. Since the style used in Rumi's Masnavi is didactic, the tools of simile and allegory have been extensively used in teaching and conveying the poet's various concepts and messages to the audience. Another important point is that comparing the frequency of different forms of simile in the Masnavi indicates that Rumi has mostly benefited from which structures and elements in the didactic style to express his purposes.
خلاصه ماشینی:
Another important point is that comparing the frequency of different forms of simile in the Masnavi indicates which structures and elements Rumi has most benefited from in his didactic style to express his purposes.
1- Intellectual to Sensory: In this type, where the mushabbah is intellectual and the mushabbah bihi is sensory, Rumi has often strived to bring an intellectual matter—whether an emotional state, a character or moral trait, an intellectual concept, or matters related to the unseen world and abstractions—closer to the mind, understanding, and perception of the listener by comparing it to a sensory matter that is similar to that intellectual matter in some respects.
The order followed in this article is not based on verse numbers; in each simile, its type in terms of being intellectual or sensory is mentioned has been mentioned, and the mushabbah, mushabbah bihi, and the aspect of similarity (wajh al-shabah) have been explained; in similes where the mushabbah refers back to Allah Almighty, it was sufficient to mention whether the two sides of the simile are intellectual or sensory.
Table number 2 relates to the classification of similes based on whether the two sides of the simile are sensory or intellectual, similes with Quranic and mystical mushabbah or mushabbah bihi with the mention of cases, and repetitive similes, where in this section each simile is mentioned with the verse numbers in which it is repeated.
