چکیده:
The main objective of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of behavioral and social contract reinforcement on academic progress in the subject of experimental science among male students with intellectual disabilities in the third grade of middle school in the counties of Tehran province. For this purpose, out of all male students with intellectual disabilities in the third grade of middle school in day schools of the provincial counties, 30 individuals were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling. The research tools were the Wechsler Intelligence Scale (to match groups in terms of intelligence quotient) and teacher-made academic achievement tests in experimental science. The results showed that the average academic progress scores in experimental science for the behavioral contract reinforcement group were significantly higher than those of the social reinforcement group and the control group. Additionally, the average academic progress scores in experimental science for the social reinforcement group were significantly higher than those of the control group.
خلاصه ماشینی:
Another result of this research is that the use of social reinforcers is effective on the academic achievement in the experimental science lesson of students, which is consistent with the results of Kord (2003).
10/21 1/42 3/4 10 Pre-test Control 1/27 13/61 10 Post-test According to Table 1, it is observed: there is a statistically significant difference in the academic achievement of the experimental science lesson among the three groups of behavioral contract reinforcement, social reinforcement, and control (p < 0.
In Table 1, hypotheses 1 and 2 are confirmed; consequently, the use of social reinforcers and behavioral contracts is effective on the academic achievement in the experimental science lesson of students compared to the control group.
The aim of this research is to examine the effectiveness of social reinforcers and behavioral contracts on the academic achievement of intellectually disabled students, which was not found in previous studies.
The hypotheses and questions investigated in this research are as follows: Hypothesis 1: The effectiveness of social reinforcers compared to the control group on academic achievement in the experimental science lesson in intellectually disabled students is greater.
Hypothesis 2: The effectiveness of behavioral contract reinforcers compared to the control group on academic achievement in the experimental science lesson in intellectually disabled students is greater.
Question: Is the effectiveness of behavioral contract and social reinforcers on the academic achievement in the experimental science lesson of intellectually disabled students different?
