چکیده:
The aim of this research is to identify the strengths and weaknesses (current status) of the Educational Sciences curriculum with a major in Educational Management in Iranian higher education in order to provide solutions for curriculum improvement (desired status). In this study, eight hypotheses related to the current and desired status of objectives, content, teaching methods, and learning assessment methods were proposed. To examine the hypotheses, first, using a theoretical study, a model based on a strategic approach was designed, and then, based on it, a field study was conducted on a sample consisting of final-year students of three levels—undergraduate, master's, and doctoral—at Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Alzahra, and Allameh Tabataba'i universities, Tarbiat Moallem, educational management specialists, and employers, using closed-ended questionnaires, open-ended questionnaires, and structured interview forms, and results were obtained. The findings of this study showed that all the hypotheses raised regarding the current and desired status of the program in all three academic levels were confirmed with minor differences. Overall, the current status of the curricula in all three levels does not meet the conditions and needs, but the necessity for revising and improving the undergraduate curriculum in terms of structure, teaching methods, and learning assessment methods is greater than that of the master's and doctoral levels.
