Abstract:
Today, some believe that human beings in Iranian society are sadder than before. One of the areas in which this concept and its changes over time can be pursued is language. Because language is a socio-cognitive phenomenon and the product of human thoughts and feelings and related society. In this study, from a scientific point of view, we are looking for the important question: "Has the Persian-speaking Iranian society become more sad?". In this regard, we are extracting linguistic tools to encode the concept of sadness in Persian. The most important tool used to study this concept is conceptual metaphor; Because, usually, human beings understand abstract concepts more difficult than objective concepts. To this end, abstract concepts are perceived by objective concepts through their conceptualization. Since society and human beings are constantly changing, the language and the extent of changes in sadness and happiness are also evident in language, which indicates a change in human emotions. According to studies, grief in Iranian society has slightly changed from the 50s to the 70s, a slight decrease in the 80s and finally, a significant increase in the 90s.
