Abstract:
The Naseri period is one of the most important periods in Iran's history, because in this period, the expansion of communication with Europe and the developments of modernity made Iranian elites familiar with these developments. Therefore, Iranian revolutionaries demanded to strengthen the means of communication in order to acquire the components of the capabilities of the Europeans. The press, as one of the communication tools, could play a decisive role in the awakening of Iranians and the transmission of a new civilization. In the meantime, the editors of Akhtar newspaper were very active in informing Iranians by using the atmosphere of Istanbul and familiarizing themselves with European developments. In the upcoming research, using historical data, the position of the press in the modernization of Iran is investigated based on the contents of Akhtar newspaper.
