Abstract:
Introduction: The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors affecting sports tourism in the Ferdous desert region. Tourism as well as recreational sports activities promote travel and interaction with other people and intimacy with the environment. The introduction of sports events and the participation of domestic and international participants can significantly contribute to the country's income, which has received little attention.Research method: The research method was descriptive-survey. The statistical population of this research includes all sports tourists in the desert area of Ferdous city in the spring of 1401 and the sampling method in the current research was prospective, the number of statistical sample was considered to be 384 people (approximately 400 people) according to Cochran's formula and according to the unlimited statistical population. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, whose validity was measured and confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis and its reliability using Cronbach's alpha. In this research, structural equation model with Amos software was used to measure inferential statistics.Findings: It showed that factors such as natural attractions, infrastructure, culture and management are factors influencing tourism attractions in Ferdows desert region. The most influential were natural factors and attractions (with 49 percent).Conclusion: The results showed that some of the capabilities of this region are the existence of exemplary tourism areas such as Tun City, Baghistan, Ferdous Mineral Spa and other diverse tourist, historical and resort attractions, which have been introduced as necessary infrastructure strategies and policies to attract tourists and support investment in this sector. Due to the pristine and desert location of Ferdous city in terms of natural and then cultural and administrative attractions, this city can be used to hold sports suitable for the desert and to hold multilateral meetings and desert competitions.

The results of a responsible approach to desert tourism include: minimizing environmental impacts, increasing environmental and cultural awareness and respect, providing positive experiences for both visitors and host communities, providing financial benefits for the protection of nature, natural resources, and host communities, political empowerment of local communities, and familiarizing visitors with the political, environmental, and social situations of host countries (Asadisaravi, Ezanloo, & Seyed Alipour, 2022: 78).
Necessity and Importance of the Research Tourism is one of the emerging industries that can provide rapid economic development by creating job opportunities, income, improving living standards, and activating other productive sectors within the destination country; therefore, the role of participating individuals and stakeholders must be multi-faceted.
International Ecotourism Association the perspective of other countries' experiences, any study that provides the necessary foundation for the sustainable development of desert nature tourism in the country will possess high economic and social value.
