Abstract:
The present study was conducted to explain the effect of emotion-oriented couple therapy on the mental health of couples with conflict. This research method is of an experimental type, and the statistical population of this research included all couples with conflict who were referred to counseling centers in Shiraz. From this statistical population, a sample of 20 couples was selected as available from Bahar Neko Counseling Center and randomly selected into two groups of 10, including the experimental and the control groups. The GHQ28 general health questionnaire was used after extraction and collection to measure the studied variable. The data, the scores obtained at two descriptive and inferential levels, or covariance analysis, were analyzed by SPSS software. The results of the covariance analysis showed a significant difference between emotion-oriented therapy and emotion-oriented couple therapy, which increases the level of mental health of couples, and the continuity of its effect has been confirmed over time.

Given that Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy focuses heavily on how humans express and shape their emotional experiences and what interactional patterns shape the quality of their communication with their inner and outer worlds, it seems it can significantly impact the mental health of couples, which is a vital and fundamental factor in a relationship.
Therefore, the present study aims to answer this question: Is Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy effective on the mental health of couples experiencing marital conflict?
These 3 stages are carried out over 10 sessions and 9 steps, and the general treatment protocol for these sessions is as described in the following table: {Refer to the attached table file} To implement this research, 20 couples with marital conflict were selected via convenience sampling by visiting counseling centers in Shiraz and were categorized into two groups of 10, with one group considered the experimental group and one group considered the control group.
