Abstract:
The aim of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of pre-marital education with an Adlerian approach on attitudes toward marriage among girls on the verge of marriage. In this study, a quasi-experimental research method was used with a pre-test/post-test design and a control group. The statistical sample included 30 single dormitory girls on the verge of marriage in the year 1403, who were selected using convenience sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups with 15 individuals in each group. First, all samples responded to the Marriage Attitude Scale (MAS) questionnaire, and then the pre-marital intervention with an Adlerian approach was implemented for the experimental group in 8 sessions. Finally, a post-test was administered to the single dormitory girls on the verge of marriage in both the experimental and control groups, and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to analyze the results. The findings of this research showed that pre-marital education with an Adlerian approach was effective on the attitude toward marriage among girls on the verge of marriage in the experimental group. Thus, it is suggested that institutions, executive organizations, counselors, and training workshops implement the Adlerian approach in the field of marriage for girls and boys on the verge of marriage as well as for couples.
