Abstract:
The West Asia region has long been a center of security, political, and ideological crises and has always been pregnant with extensive and profound transformations. The emergence, growth, and expansion of violent movements and terrorist groups are examples of these transformations. On one hand, the protection of Islam and on the other, the confrontation with the onslaught of the Western humanist system, have always been pretexts for terrorist groups. This is considered a new form of Salafi-oriented activities in the Middle East. The first evidence of this group's terrorist actions can perhaps be seen in the fall of states such as Syria and Iraq, which, in their view, are somehow considered allies of the infidel system. Of course, it should be added that many researchers consider the establishment of this Salafi-Takfiri group to be beyond purely doctrinal-ideological issues. But how can these extremist currents be examined in a theoretical framework? The authors of the article explain the formation of ISIS using Charles Tilly's resource mobilization theories and Thomas Spriggs' crisis theory; in other words, the formation of any crisis can be attributed to multiple reasons. The present writing also describes the formation and expansion of the increasing crisis of the terrorist-Takfiri group ISIS using Charles Tilly's resource mobilization and interprets and analyzes it using Spriggs' crisis theory. To this end, both written and virtual sources have been used.
