Abstract:
Ahl al-Bayt (AS) are considered a single light placed alongside the Thaqalayn, emphasizing that 'What is lawful for Muhammad (PBUH) is lawful until the Day of Resurrection, and what is forbidden for Muhammad (PBUH) is forbidden until the Day of Resurrection.' Their lifestyle is a model for all humanity until the Day of Judgment, which necessitates attention to the principles governing this praiseworthy Sira. The question of the present article is whether, in studies of the lifestyle of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), the foundations and principles that ensure the unity and coherence of results are observed? To explain the issue, we have employed the method of theoretical content analysis of the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt and the views of some experts. This article examines a number of general principles and some overlooked indicators of the lifestyle of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and has reached the conclusion that if these principles, foundations, and assumptions are not taken into account, the results of research related to the lifestyle of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) may lack the necessary coherence and integrity.
Machine summary:
Some consider it to mean the "Sira of the Ahl al-Bayt"; some refer to it as "al-Hayat al-Tayyibah" (the pure life); some, by emphasizing certain Quranic verses, perceive it as equivalent to "healthy living," and so on; B) Our access to the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) is through the hadiths and the Sira of those great figures, in the form of written words.
One person might rely on individual prophetic statements and consider them representative of the lifestyle of the Ahl al-Bayt, while another may believe that a comprehensive and precise investigation is necessary so that we can attribute its achievements to the Ahl al-Bayt (as); C) Even the type of application of the word "Ahl al-Bayt" may involve some leniency, and these lenient applications may not be agreed upon by experts; for example, a researcher might extract something from the life of Imam Sadiq (as), Imam Hadi (as), or Imam Askari (as), and present their interpretation as the lifestyle of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) without considering whether that Imam was stating an actual ruling or acting under Taqiyya?
These types of flexibilities in the subject of "the lifestyle of the Ahl al-Bayt (as)" are more than we can list and examine, but we remind you that if we multiply matters such as those mentioned by the multiple probabilities of each, a set of scattered possibilities will result, making understanding and comprehension in this field very difficult, and everyone goes their own way; even though everyone has adhered to the "lifestyle of the Ahl al-Bayt (as)"; however, if in the shaping of personal studies and the direction of conferences and group or organizational research, we first make it clear what we are looking for and which option among the possible options we accept, we will obtain better and more accurate results.
