INTRODUCTION Obesity is globally epidemic and has been found to be associated with multiple health hazards(1,2) Reaction time is the time interval from the onset of the stimulus to the very beginning of the motor action, and reflects the integrity of the information processing system(3).
The relationship between obesity and cognition is evident in both children and adolescents, with higher body mass indices (BMIs) associated with poor attention and task-switching abilities (4).
comparison between simple visual reaction time in obese, overweight and normal children CONCLUSIONS Various neurophysiological studies have shown that greater BMI is associated with reduced cognitive performance especially in area of attention, execution and memory (6), but to this study no differences between groups."
