Background and aim: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is one of the health system challenges in the world. Studies show that 60 to 80 percent of adults in different communities have CLBP. Although rehabilitation program have been effective after surgery the question is whether exercise prehabilitation as new approach can more improve recovery process after surgery. The aim of present study was to investigate the impact of aquatic therapy as exercise prehabilitation on pain, disability and foot pressure distribution in women with CLBP who were undergone laminectomy surgery.Materials and methods: participants in the present quasi-experimental study were 30 female with CLBP who were undergone laminectomy surgery with range of age 40 - 55 years old. They were randomly divided into two groups of 15 patients who located in the intervention (Pre-rehabilitation) and control (Routine rehabilitation exercises after surgery) groups. The intervention group had four weeks of hydrotherapy exercises pre and eight weeks after laminectomy surgery while the control group had only eight weeks of hydrotherapy exercises after surgery. Visual Analogue Scale was used to evaluate of pain, and Oswestry Disability Index was performed to assess the level of disability. Moreover the foot pressure distribution device was used for postural fluctuations. All tests and assessment have done one day before starting of four weeks pre-rehabilitation exercises in the intervention group and one day pre surgery in the control group. All evaluations were performed at the end of the program in both groups.
