The present article focuses on
examining two Persian translations of the Old
Testament in the light of its original text, the
Hebrew language. The evidence studied in
four sections deals with the advantages and
then weaknesses of the ancient translation and
Sayyar›s translations.
The current research has led to the conclusion
that the original language of the Torah
is always more than the target language, and
the expert audience is always forced to refer to
several translations to understand the nuances
of the text. Basically, translations act like
broken mirrors in the case of classic and magnificent
texts. Therefore, in the Persian-speaking
scientific community, especially in comparative
researches, relying only on a translation, one
cannot be safe from misunderstandings and
improper perceptions.
