خلاصه ماشینی:
A documentary study of the historical contexts of this phenomenon showed that the familiarity of the people of Tabriz with modernist ideas through Russia and the Ottoman Empire, business and commercial interactions with the Caucasus, the extensive presence of foreign commercial and political delegations in this city, and the placement of Tabriz carpet merchants and producers within the context of these transformations, provided the ground for the influence of modernist currents among the factors of Tabriz carpet production.
Therefore, considering the importance of the role of social and historical contexts in the emergence of cultural and artistic transformations, the main research questions are: A) What factors facilitated the leadership of the city of Tabriz in the revival of carpet weaving in Iran during the Qajar period?
Taken together, the above studies consider the tendency toward variety and the perception of creativity and innovation as the design and production factors of Tabriz carpets to be the main cause of changes contrary to the cultural foundations of Iranian art in these carpets; however, given their own objectives, they have not made an effort toward analyzing and explaining the historical-social contexts of the emergence of this phenomenon.
Modernist and modernizing thought was one of these influences that, coinciding with the peak of Iranian carpet production and export led by the city of Tabriz and the financial support of its merchants, permeated different layers of Azerbaijani society and made this society predisposed to accepting new and transformative ideas, to the point that a significant number of Azerbaijan tribes also became supporters of the Constitutional Revolution.
