With the entry into the era of wisdom, human resources have become the most important factor for success, and its role in all stages of the knowledge-based economy is undeniable. According to many, the greatest vulnerability of this economy stems from the inadequacy of human capital. Accordingly, this article addresses the following issues: What are the educational needs of knowledge workers? What strategies are required for the successful implementation of training? And what are the appropriate methods for training knowledge workers? The statistical population of the research includes all experts in the research and technology field of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, and a descriptive-survey research method and questionnaire tool were used. The results of the research indicate the confirmation of all the educational needs, methods, and strategies presented in the research literature.

Although the activities of knowledge workers and scientific staff are essentially not formulaic, progressive organizations have gradually achieved appropriate structures, mechanisms, leadership styles, and cultural grounds for the synergy of the efforts and thoughts of scientific staff, and have succeeded not only in making greater use of existing ideas and initiatives but also in addressing organizational knowledge creation and the intellectual development of these employees.
In a study that examined the relationship between training needs and knowledge management, the most important skills that should be considered in training programs included the following: creativity and innovation, documentation of processes and procedures, interpersonal communication, leadership skills, performance management, problem-solving skills, empowerment skills, teamwork, and group work.
Since the nature of organizational activities has changed and knowledge work has gained great importance in organizations, the training programs provided to employees must encourage continuous learning within them.
By working on real issues in training programs, organization members can acquire the necessary skills to gain experience in the work environment for new product development or process improvement.
