The Shahid Master, in his various works, has addressed this issue and has even questioned some historical events that were in conflict with this important, fundamental, and historically established matter, and finally set out to resolve the conflict; for example, regarding the incident of arbitration, he poses this question: "According to Shia belief and the person of the Commander of the Faithful, governance and Imamate in Islam are appointive and according to text (nass); so why did His Eminence submit to arbitration and then defend it vigorously?" And he believes that the answer to this question can be well understood from the words of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), where he says: «قال اللّه سبحانه: (فإن تنازعْتُم فی شیء فردّوه إلی اللّه و الرَّسول) فَرَدُّهُ إلیَ اللّه أنْ نَحکُم بکتابه وَ رَدُّهُ إلیَ الرسولِ أن ناخذ بِسُنَّتِهِ، فَإذاحُکِمَ بالصِّدقِ فی کتابِ اللّه فَنَحْن أحقُّ الناس بِهِ، و إن حُکِمَ بِسُنَةِ رسولِ اللّه فنحن أولاهم بِها» (8) "God the Almighty said: If you disagree about something, refer it back to God and the Messenger.
With the difference that in Islamic culture, the conditions of the ruler are determined by the Infallible leaders, whereas in other political schools, their conditions are also determined by representatives of the effects and divine branches of government, is that wilayat and the leadership of society belong to the category of duty, obligation, and trust, not to the category of right and privilege.
