Investigating the extent of use of electronic journals compared to printed journals by graduate students of the Faculties of Education and Psychology at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz Universities Abdolrasoul Jokar, Leila Dehghani Given the increasing importance of journals in scientific communications and the emergence of the electronic journal format, this article attempts to investigate, using a survey method and descriptive and inferential statistical tests, the extent of use of electronic journals compared to printed journals by graduate students of the Faculties of Education and Psychology at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz Universities. The findings indicate that a higher percentage of students at the studied universities use printed journals, but the frequency of use for electronic journals is higher. The majority of them assessed the importance of electronic and printed journals as "high." Although most of them prefer the "electronic" format of journals, most of these students assess their skill in using electronic journals as "medium" and feel the need for training in using electronic journals; most of them stated that the main reason for not using electronic journals is the lack of sufficient training in the field of using electronic journals, and slow retrieval speed is their most important obstacle in using electronic journals.
