To reveal the extent of the importance of the Children and Adolescents Encyclopedia on one hand and the benefits of biographies on the other, my master's thesis subject regarding the encyclopedia (Refer to page image) is titled "A Comparative Study of Biographical Entries in the Children and Adolescents Encyclopedia with Similar English-language Encyclopedias.
" This thesis is the first research to look at the encyclopedia from this specific angle and has examined and compared the biographical entries in the Children and Adolescents Encyclopedia of the Children's Book Council with four encyclopedias: World Book Encyclopedia, Britannica Children's Encyclopedia, Children and Adolescents Scientific Continuous Encyclopedia, and Britannica Children's Continuous Encyclopedia.
The aim of the research was to conduct a comparative evaluation of the studied encyclopedias based on research variables (credibility, up-to-dateness, number of entries, types of biography, structure, writing, and illustrations) and to determine their strengths, weaknesses, similarities, and differences.
