چکیده:
Tragedy and Ta'ziyeh are considered two classic performative traditions that, due to their roots in ritual and their dependence on religion, culture, myth, and tone, are suitable for comparative study. The aim of this research is to examine the values and performative capacities of these two performative genres in relation to each other. In pursuit of this goal, various components such as narration or mimesis, resemblance and character, performance style, verbal effects, catharsis, and impact on the audience are compared. In this article, we attempt to answer the question: how can the performative capacity of tragedy be preferred over Ta'ziyeh or vice versa? It seems that by using a semio-semantic approach and its subfields, namely Louis Janillon's digital and analog semiotics, the extent of performative similarities and differences between these two genres can be better examined. Another goal of this research is to critique existing comparative studies of Ta'ziyeh with tragic and epic plays, which seem to have overlooked the most important pillar of Ta'ziyeh, namely its performance style, and have measured its values against other genres.

Tragedy Tragedy in the Greek language means "goat song" and refers to a type of poetry and drama for performance and composing a play, but the most important definition of tragedy and the systematization of this drama was carried out by Aristotle: Tragedy is an imitation of a magnificent action, having a certain magnitude and length, adorned through speech with various embellishments, each according to the difference of various components, and this imitation is completed through the character of persons, not by means of narration and storytelling, and it arouses pity and fear so that it causes the purification of the human soul from these emotions and affects (Aristotle, 1387: 121).
Finally, with the proposed model, we will conduct a comparative study of the theatrical values of Ta'ziyeh and tragedy, including performance style, narration and imitation, characterization, verbal manifestations, purification, and the impact on the audience.

In this research, an attempt has been made to conduct a comparative study of Ta'ziyeh and tragedy based on five performative characteristics (narration and imitation, Shabihe and character, mode of performance, verbal manifestations, and also purification and impact on the audience) using analog and digital semiotics, so that we can introduce the performative values and capacities of both genres.
